CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Anthony Davis scored 25 points as Austin Peay beat Eastern Illinois 68-54 on Saturday.
The Governors (4-10, 2-0 Ohio Valley Conference) started the second half with a 9-2 run on the first basket of the half. Davis' layup at 18:40 sparked the run that put Austin Peay up 45-34 with 15:45 to play in the game.
Eastern Illinois' (5-8, 0-2 OVC) Aaron Patterson ended another 9-2 Governors run with a jumper at the 5:12 mark in the first half to go down 11-5.
Austin Peay gave up the lead once, trailing 3-2 with 17:49 left in the opening half. Davis claimed the lead back at 17:25 with a 3-pointer.
The Panthers smallest deficit of the second half came with the 36-to-29 halftime score.
Eastern Illinois' leading scorer was Bobby Catchings with 15. Emanuel Dildy added 12 points and Jason Wright 10.
The Governors' William Durden scored 12 and Maurice Hampton 10.
