LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) -- Kevin Bettencourt scored 17 points and Charles Lee had 12 to lead Bucknell to a 59-43 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday.
Chris McNaughton added nine points, all in the second half, and seven rebounds for Bucknell (10-4, 1-0 Patriot League).
Kevin Hamilton scored 17 points for Holy Cross (8-5, 0-1)
Bucknell went on an 11-0 first-half run, keyed by Lee's 3-pointer and 3-point play, to take a 17-6 lead. The Bison held a 30-18 lead at the half.
Holy Cross scored 10 straight points in the second half to pull within 38-37 on a 3-pointer by Hamilton with 11:14 to play.
But the Bison defense allowed only one field goal after that, and McNaughton made 4-of-6 free throws and Bettencourt contributed a pair before Donald Brown's put-back gave the Bison a nine-point lead, 46-37, with 5:23 left.
