PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Jake Schroeder scored 23 points and hit six 3-pointers as Portland State beat Northern Arizona 91-78 on Saturday night.
Blake Walker added 19 points for the Vikings (3-0, 11-4), who won their seventh straight game. Seamus Boxley had 18 points, 14 in the second half, and Antone Jarrell scored 16 points for PSU.
Steven Sir led Northern Arizona (0-2, 7-8) with 21 points. DeJuan Stevens had 16 points and Kyle Feuerbach added 16 points and six assists for the Lumberjacks.
The Vikings, who shot 59 percent from the field, had another strong defensive effort and held the Lumberjacks to 48 percent shooting on the night. Portland State dominated down low all game, outscoring NAU 40-26 in the paint.
Portland State led from the opening tip and connected on nine 3-pointers on the night. The Vikings withstood several offensive outbursts from the Lumberjacks during the second half, including eight straight points by Feuerbach, but never gave up the lead.
A 16-5 run late in the second half, capped by a 3-pointer by Schroeder with 4:30 left to play, put the game out of reach for the Vikings.
