TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- O.J. Sumter scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Saturday to lead Florida A&M to a 93-68 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore.
Florida A&M (3-8, 2-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) never trailed in the game and led 48-28 at halftime. Ryan Leak and Jareem Dowling each scored 14 points to lead Maryland-Eastern Shore (1-10, 0-3).
The Rattlers used an 11-0 run midway through the first half to take a 19-7 lead and break open the game. They led by as many as 32 points late in the game.
Sumter spurred the Rattlers in the first half with 13 points and seven rebounds, while Tony Tate had eight points and four assists. Tate finished the game with 14 points, while Jonathan Kelly and Darius Glover each scored 12 for the Rattlers.
Florida A&M outrebounded Maryland-Eastern Shore 53-34 and held the Hawks to 41.4 percent shooting from the field. Tim Parham added 13 points and nine rebounds for Maryland-Eastern Shore, while Jason McKinnon scored 10.
