BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Kevin Downey scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Canisius to an 82-77 victory over St. Peter's Saturday afternoon.
Dewitt Doss scored 16 points and Darnell Wilson added 15 for Canisius (3-9, 1-2 MAAC), winners of back-to-back games for only the third time in two seasons.
Keydren Clark scored 24 points and Terrance Watkins 15 for St. Peter's (5-8, 1-4). It was St. Peter's fourth straight loss.
Wilson made a hook shot with 4:13 remaining to give Canisius a 70-69 lead, the last of five lead changes over a 3:45 span.
Chuck Harris made four free throws in the final minute for Canisius, which converted 18 of 19 foul shots in the second half.
Clark scored nine of St. Peter's first 12 points in the second half, as the Peacocks cut the Canisius lead to 44-42.
Ron Yates hit a baseline jumper with 10:26 to play to put St. Peter's up 59-52, but the Golden Griffins countered with a 10-3 run to tie the game at 62-62.
