NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) -- Jermaine Spencer scored 10 points, grabbed nine rebounds and blocked two shots in the final 40 seconds to lead Northwestern State to a 71-66 win over Texas-San Antonio on Saturday.
Northwestern State (8-8, 2-0 Southland Conference) rallied in the second half and overcame 35 percent shooting from the field with solid free throw shooting, hitting 19-of-22 from the line. It was the Demons' third straight win.
Texas-San Antonio (6-6, 1-1) led 35-28 at the halftime, hitting 52 percent of its shots from the field, or 14-of-27.
Tyronn Mitchell added nine points for the Demons and Byron Allen and Clifton Lee each added eight.
Raphael Posey led the Roadrunners with 14 points and four rebounds. Justin Harbert had 12 points and John Millsap and Anthony Fuqua each added 11.
The Roadrunners sank 47 percent of their shots for the game but were hurt by 22 turnovers. Also the Demons had 12 steals.
After trailing the entire second half by as much as eight points, the Demons took the lead for good at 64-63 with 2:56 left when Mitchell hit a driving layup.
