PROVO, Utah (AP) -- Jared Jensen scored 16 points to lead BYU past Montana State-Billings 110-70 on Tuesday night.
For BYU (6-10, 0-1 Mountain West) the game was a welcome rest from a difficult preseason schedule that included North Carolina, North Carolina State and PAC 10 teams California and Stanford.
The Yellowjackets (8-5, 0-3 Pacific West) have now lost four straight, all on the road.
Jensen scored eight consecutive points midway through the first half to launch BYU on a 22-3 run that was capped off by Mike Hall's tip-in at the buzzer. The Cougars took a 57-30 lead into the break.
The Yellowjackets were out-shot 63-31 percent in the opening half and 55-33 percent for the game.
Jensen also started the second half with eight straight points. The Cougars eclipsed the 100-point mark with just over 3:00 remaining.
BYU had a balanced scoring attack with six players in double figures, including starters Hall and Mike Rose with 14 each. Twelve of Rose's total points came from beyond the 3-point arc, where the Cougars shot 63 percent for the game. MSUB's Justin Hassell led all scorers with 22 points. He was joined in double figures with teammates Cameron Munoz, who had 20, and Buddy Windy Boy scored 15.
The Cougars out-rebounded the Yellowjackets 47-39.
