BOONE, N.C. (AP) -- Nathan Cranford scored 11 points and Herbert Jones added 11 off the bench to lift Appalachian State to a 73-62 win against Elon on Tuesday night.
Noah Brown posted 10 points off the bench for the Mountaineers (7-8, 2-4 Southern Conference) and Jeremy Clayton added eight rebounds.
Brian Waters got 20 points and six rebounds for the Phoenix (2-16, 0-5). Le'Vonn Jordan scored 10 points and Chris Chalko tallied 10 off the bench. Simon Harris posted eight rebounds.
The Mountaineers led 36-29 at the break on 35.7 percent shooting.
