GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -- Kevin Oleksiak hit a pair of free throws and Josh Gross sunk a 3-pointer in overtime to lift North Carolina-Greensboro past East Tennessee State 79-76 on Tuesday.
Ronnie Burrell had a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Spartans (11-5, 4-1 Southern Conference). Gross posted a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds while Ricky Hickman scored 17 points and Kyle Hines had 16.
Tim Smith led ETSU with 22 points while Ben Rhoda scored 17 points off the bench for the Buccaneers (6-10, 2-4). Dillon Sneed got his fifth career double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds for ETSU. James Anthony added 11 points.
The Spartans rallied in the second half to up to a 4-point lead at 68-64 with 2:24 left in the game. Sneed scored on a layup. Smith was later fouled and hit both free throws to tie the game at 68-68.
In overtime, the teams traded baskets until Goss sunk a 3-pointer to put the Spartans ahead 77-74.
Rhoda was later fouled and hit a pair of free throws to make it 77-76. Oleksiak then hit a pair of free throws to secure the win.
