CORVALLIS, Ore. -- Arizona's Salim Stoudamire does not take extra pleasure from beating Oregon schools. To the Portland native, it's just business.
Introduced to boos Saturday night at Gill Coliseum, Stoudamire had 25 points and No. 13 Arizona erased a first-half deficit to beat Oregon State 92-83.
"Every game is just a game," said Stoudamire, who had 27 points in 74-66 victory over Oregon on Thursday. "Every game we try to get better."
Channing Frye had 20 points and seven rebounds for Arizona (16-3, 6-1), which outrebounded the Beavers 36-22.
Since the Wildcats' lone league loss to Stanford, they've righted themselves with four consecutive wins.
Saturday night's game was sweet for Stoudamire because the last time Oregon State played Arizona was at Gill back on Feb. 21, 2004, and the Beavers beat the Wildcats 90-84.
"This win was big because it didn't happen last year," he said.
Oregon State (11-7, 3-4), which snapped a seven-game winning streak at home, led by as many as 15 points in the first half.
Stoudamire's 3-pointer midway through the second half put the Wildcats up 76-66.
The Beavers came within 88-83 on Chris Stephens' 3-pointer and free throw with 39.8 seconds left in the game, but that was as close as they would get.
"It's a long game, that's what I was telling the guys. Take it one possession at a time," Stoudamire said. "As long as you have grit, you can come back from any deficit."
Stephens and David Lucas each had 17 points for the Beavers.
Hassan Adams added 12 points, six assists and six rebounds for the Wildcats.
"We were fortunate to come out of here (Oregon) with two wins," Arizona coach Lute Olson said. "Down the stretch Hassan and Salim hit big shots and Channing hit big free throws."
Oregon State coach Jay John said Stoudamire and Frye are a brutal combination.
"Those are two guys right there that as are as good as they can get," he said.
Stoudamire, who went to Lake Oswego High School, is the cousin of Portland Trail Blazers guard Damon Stoudamire. He collected two fouls in the first half, and as a result, played just nine minutes and scored nine points.
Oregon State went up 31-16 in the first half on Jason Fontenet's 3-pointer.
Arizona chipped away at the lead, but could not go ahead. Oregon State's Kyle Jeffers fouled Chris Rodgers with 1.5 seconds left in the half and Rodgers made both free throws to get Arizona to 44-43 at halftime.
"I thought our guys played well. From the offensive standpoint and the competitive standpoint, I thought they did a great job," John said. "But obviously the game turned when they went inside."
It was John's first game back after he was hospitalized for hypertension. Last Saturday against Washington, John was stricken at halftime and taken by ambulance to UW Medical Center.
He was ordered to rest until his medication stabilized his blood pressure, so he handed over control to assistant Kevin Mouton for Thursday's game against Arizona State.
The Beavers won that game 88-66, snapping a three-game losing streak.
Former Portland Trail Blazers great and basketball Hall of Famer Clyde Drexler attended the game.
