BOONE, N.C. (AP) -- D.J. Thompson scored 19 points and Appalachian State erased a seven-point deficit in the final minutes Saturday to beat College of Charleston 76-68.
Noah Brown added 13 points for the Mountaineers (8-8, 3-4 Southern Conference), who shot 58 percent in the second half to win for the eighth time in nine home games.
Bernard Jackson scored 16 points for the Cougars (11-6, 4-3), who led 56-49 with 7:48 to play before falling on the road.
Thompson had two three-point plays as Appalachian State hit six straight shots to take a 65-63 with 2:14 to play. Brown later drained a 3-pointer for a 68-63 lead with less than a minute left, and the Mountaineers went 8-for-10 at the free-throw line late to seal it.
College of Charleston shot just 35.7 percent in the first half, but led 30-28 at the break.
