SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP) -- Jonathan Heard had 19 points as Cal State Northridge beat Cal Poly 81-73 Saturday night.
The Matadors (9-8, 7-2 Big West Conference) have won eight of their last ten games after starting the season 1-6.
Davin White added 13 for Northridge while Calvin Chitwood and Thomas Shewmake had 12 points apiece.
Both teams shot 53.1 percent from the floor, but Northridge outrebounded Cal Poly 34-18.
Cal Poly (3-12, 1-7) was led by freshman guard Dawin Whiten's 22 points.
Mike Titchenal added 13 for the Mustangs, while Andrew Haskins finished with 12.
Cal Poly has lost seven straight games.
