RADFORD, Va. (AP) -- Whit Holcomb-Faye hit a 3-point heave from about 55 feet at the overtime buzzer Saturday night, giving Radford an 85-83 victory against High Point.
The Highlanders (8-9, 3-3 Big South), who forced overtime when freshman Josh Fox made a 3-pointer with 8 seconds left in regulation, seemed certain to come up short until Holcomb-Faye's throw hit high off the rim and fee through as the buzzer sounded.
High Point (9-10, 4-2) saw its five-game winning streak in the series end.
Olumuyiwa Popoola led the Highlanders with 21 points, Holcomb-Faye had 19, Chris Oliver had 14 and Fox 14.
Jerry Echenique had 18 points, including a short jumper with 5 seconds left in overtime that gave High Point an 83-82 lead. Mark Wilson added 16 points and seven rebounds and Danny Gathings had 15 points and 13 rebounds for the Panthers.
