DAVIS, Calif. (AP) -- Ryan Moore had 27 points to help UC Davis erase a 12-point second half deficient and beat Long Beach State 78-74 in overtime Saturday night.
Fowzi Abdelsamad added 18 points, including a 3-point basket to seal the victory and put the game in overtime.
Jibril Hodges had 23 points for the 49ers (2-15), while Kevin Houston and Shawn Hawkins added 16 each.
After UC Davis (8-9) opened the game with a 10-2 run, Long Beach State took off on a 26-11 spurt topped off with a 3-point basket by Jibril Hodges at the 6:10 mark. Thomas Juillerat scored the next seven points for UC Davis to cut Long Beach's lead 30-28, but the 49ers put together a 10-5 run to end the first half leading 40-33.
Hodges was 4-for-5 behind the 3-point line in the first half for Long Beach.
In the second half, the 49ers led by 12 points with 13 minutes left, but Davis came back to narrow the score to 62-60 on a 3-point play by Ryan Moore with 2:47 to go. Then, with Davis down 65-62, Abdelsamad tied the game at 65 with a 3-point shot and three seconds left.
Long Beach State's Kevin Houston dribbled the ball out of bounds to end the game in regulation.
In overtime, the game was tied 74-74 with 1:02 left when a free-throw by Juillerat put Long Beach ahead by one point. Abdelsamad then hit a 3-point shot with 12 seconds left to end the game 78-74.
