NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) -- Forward Obie Nwadike scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half as Central Connecticut beat Long Island 73-58 Saturday.
Nwadike played just seven minutes in the first half because of foul trouble but came back to shoot 5-6 in the second half to lead the team in scoring.
Reserve Javier Mojica added 16 and Lenny Jefferson scored 14 for Central Connecticut (7-9, 3-4 Northeast). Freshman Jacon Hickenbottom contributed a career-high 10 rebounds.
James Williams scored 13 points and Kellen Allen contributed 12 for LIU (6-10, 3-4).
Central Connecticut won its third consecutive game despite playing without starting center Rich Pittman, who was sidelined with a pulled left hamstring.
