LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Daniel Kickert matched a career-high with 28 points to lead St. Mary's to a 83-66 victory over Loyola Marymount Saturday.
Kickert went 11-for-13 from the field, including four 3-pointers, as the Gaels (17-5, 4-1 West Coast Conference) won for the eleventh time in 12 games and remained tied with Santa Clara for first-place in the conference.
St. Mary's improved to 5-2 on the road.
Kickert, from Melbourne Australia, led the Gaels on a 28-9 run over the first nine minutes of the second-half as St. Mary's built a 63-39 lead and the Lions (9-10, 1-5) never challenged.
Paul Marigney scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds and E. J. Rowland added 14 points for St. Mary's.
Matthew Knight and Wes Wardrop each scored 14 points for Loyola Marymount.
St. Mary's outscored the Lions in the paint 40-20 and outrebounded them 33-24.
The Gaels shot 17-for-26 (65.4 percent) in the second-half and 55 percent for the game.
