SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- John Millsap scored 18 points Saturday to help Texas-San Antonio defeat Northwestern State 86-78.
Texas-San Antonio (9-7, 4-1 Southland Conference) handed Northwestern State its first conference loss and moved a half game behind the first-place Demons (11-9, 5-1).
Rapheal Posey added 14 points for Texas-San Antonio. Andre Owens and Kurt Attaway each scored 12 points. Millsap also had a team-high nine rebounds.
Texas-San Antonio shot 55 percent from the field, including 64 percent in the second half. Northwestern State shot 42 percent from the field for the game.
Keenan Jones scored a game-high 22 points and Jermaine Wallace added 17 points for Northwestern State.
