MISSOULA (AP) -- Matt Dlouhy scored eight of his 16 points in the final five minutes Saturday as Montana pulled away from a 1-point lead to defeat Sacramento State 84-72.
The Grizzlies (9-9, 3-2) were up 66-65 when Dlouhy hit a 3-pointer with 5:05 to play and Montana outscored the Hornets (5-13, 2-4) 18-7 down the stretch. Matt Martin and Andrew Strait added 13 points apiece for the Grizzlies, who shot 55 percent from the field. They were joined in double figures by Kevin Criswell with 10.
Jason Harris hit 11-of-17 field goals to finish with 26 points for Sacramento State, while DaShawn Freeman and Jameel Pugh both had 15 points.
The Hornets twice held nine-point leads in the first half, the last time at 22-13 with 11:56 to go. But Brian Lynch's 3-pointer with 5:45 left ignited an 11-0 Grizzly run that took them from a 28-21 deficit to a 32-28 lead.
Montana was up 37-34 at halftime and trailed just once, 38-37, in the second half. The Grizzlies made 26-of-41 free throws while the Hornets, who were called for 26 fouls, hit 13-of-16.
The game marked the return of Montana forward Kamarr Davis, who missed eight games due to academic ineligibility. He finished with nine points in 24 minutes of play.
