ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP) -- Rawle Marshall scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Oakland to a 81-60 win over Southern Utah on Saturday.
Marshall scored 18 in the second half, as the Golden Grizzlies (5-11, 3-3 Mid-Continent) outscored the Thunderbirds 43-21.
Tim Gainey had 15 points to lead Southern Utah (9-8, 2-4), which has lost five consecutive road games. DeAngelo Newsom added 14 points and 10 blocks.
Southern Utah had a two-point lead with 12 minutes to play in the second half, but Oakland outscored the Thunderbirds 13-0 in the next three minutes to take a lead it would never lose.
The Thunderbirds hit nine of their first 11 field-goal attempts to start the game and led by as many as 16 points in the first half.
But the team had trouble finding the basket in the last 30 minutes of the game. After its hot start, Southern Utah made just 12 of its last 54 attempts.
Cortney Scott and Brandon Cassise added 17 and 14 points, respectively, for Oakland.
Marshall also had three blocked shots, which made him the school's career leader with 81.
