PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) -- Sean Walker had 30 points and six rebounds to lead Texas Southern to a 67-61 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday.
Mike Sneed earned a double-double for Texas Southern (4-10, 3-3 Southwestern Athletic Conference) with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Together the two players scored 45 of Texas Southern's 67 points. Martese Coleman led Arkansas-Pine Bluff (3-12, 1-5 SWAC) with 21 points. Jarvis Gunter had 11 and Tamarius Brown had 10.
Texas Southern led at the half with a 34-22 score after shooting 42.3 percent from the field in the first. Arkansas-Pine Bluff started out weaker, going 32.3 percent from the field in the first half and just 25 percent from the free throw line.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff warmed up after the break improving its field shooting percentage to 42.4 percent and outscoring Texas Southern 39-33 in the second. But it wasn't enough to make up for the 12-point first half deficit.
