ATHENS, Ohio (AP) Mychal Green scored 17 points, and Ohio survived a second-half shooting slump to beat Toledo 76-68 on Wednesday night.
Ohio (9-7, 4-4 Mid-American Conference) led by 20 points early in the second half, then went cold and managed only a pair of field goals in the final 9 minutes, 35 seconds. The Bobcats were outscored 32-17 during one stretch.
Toledo (7-9, 3-4) cut it to 67-62, but Jeremy Fears hit all of his six free throws in the final 2 minutes, 31 seconds to preserve Ohio's lead.
Sammy Villegas led Toledo with 18 points, and Florentino Valencia added 17. The Rockets hurt themselves with 20 turnovers.
Five players scored in double figures for Ohio, which shot only 31.6 percent from the field in the second half. The Bobcats went 24-of-39 on free throws overall, making the difference.
