EDINBURG, Texas -- Travis Bailey scored 21 points to lead Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to a 66-61 victory over Texas-Pan American on Wednesday night.
Corpus Christi (13-6) led for almost the entire game but held off a late rally by UTPA (9-10). The Broncs got within one point on a 3-pointer by Sergio Sanchez with 1:07 remaining but missed their final three shots -- all 3-point attempts.
-UTPA was 7-of-31 from behind the arc and shot 40 percent from the field. Eric Montalvo led the team with 13 points.
Thomas Bailey scored 12 and Corey Lamkin added 10 for the Islanders, who shot 47 percent from the floor.
