YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) -- Jason Bird scored a season-high 20 points and Turner Battle added 14 Saturday to help Buffalo to an 80-68 come-from-behind win over Eastern Michigan.
Bird got 12 of his points on 4-of-6 shooting from 3-point range for the Bulls (13-5, 6-4 Mid-American Conference). Buffalo, which won its third straight game, hit 9-of-19 3-point shots in the game.
John Bowler scored 19 and Markus Austin added 17 for the Eagles (9-9, 3-6 MAC), who have now lost five straight games and six of their last seven.
Trailing 36-34 at halftime, Buffalo opened up the second half by outscoring Eastern Michigan 18-6 to take a 52-42 lead with 14:43 remaining. Bird keyed the spurt with a 3-pointer, a 3-point play and a free throw.
The Eagles scored five of the next seven points to cut the deficit to 54-47 with 13:04 left, but that was as close as they could get.
Buffalo had jumped ahead 18-10 in the first seven minutes, but saw the advantage disappear when Eastern Michigan went on a 12-4 run. The Eagles expanded their cushion to 36-26 with 2:57 left, but the Bulls scored the final eight points of the half.
