CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Darren Brooks had 15 points and five rebounds as Southern Illinois beat Evansville 79-55 on Saturday.
Brooks also led the Salukis (16-5, 7-2 Missouri Valley) with four assists. Three other Salukis scored in the double-digits. Stetson Hairston had 12 points, Mike Dale scored 11 and Jamaal Tatum had 10.
Southern Illinois took control of the game early and led the Purple Aces (10-9, 4-7) 39-24 at halftime.
Bradley Strickland had a double-double for Evansville with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
The Salukis shot 51.7 percent from the field while holding Evansville to just 38.6 percent shooting.
