BALTIMORE (AP) -- Bruce Brown scored 23 points to lead Hampton to a 51-50 win against Coppin State on Saturday.
Brown, who shot 9-for-15 from the field, also grabbed nine rebounds and blocked three shots.
Hampton (8-10, 6-3 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) also got 15 points and 10 rebounds from Devin Green, who was 2-for-2 in 3-point shots.
Coppin State (7-11, 7-2) was led by Darryl Proctor, who scored 10 points. He also led the team in rebounds with eight. Proctor struggled at the line, however, going 2-for-7.
Nicholas King and Raheem Scott scored nine points each.
Coppin State had the advantage in points off of turnovers with 20, compared to 15 for Hampton. But Hampton faired better in the paint, scoring 20 to Coppin's 14.
The score was tied seven times, and there were 16 lead changes.
The teams were tied at halftime.
