IRVINE, Calif. (AP) -- Ross Schraeder scored all of his 17 points in the second half and made two free throws with 13.7 seconds left to give UC Irvine a 71-70 victory over Idaho on Saturday.
Schraeder made five of seven shots from 3-point range. Aaron Fitzgerald added 16 points and Jeff Gloger scored 13 points for the Anteaters (10-7, 4-5 Big West), who have won four of their last five.
Dandrick Jones made 13 of 24 shots to finish with 31 points for the Vandals (7-13, 5-4). Anton Lyons added 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Irvine held a 69-67 lead when Idaho's Armend Kahrimanovic fouled Schraeder with 13.7 seconds remaining. After Schraeder made both free throws, Jones made a 3-point basket with .05 second left.
The Anteaters, who trailed by as many as seven points in the first half, built a 42-32 lead with 14:52 to play. But Jones scored six points and Kahrimanovic added five during a 15-2 surge that put the Vandals ahead 47-44 with 10:42 left.
Irvine broke a 60-60 tie on Greg Ethington's follow shot with 3:02 to play. Fitzgerald followed with a steal and layup to give the Anteaters a 64-60 lead with 2:40 remaining.
