CHICAGO (AP) -- Kevin Jones Jr. scored 14 points and Deji Akindele had a double-double as Chicago State beat IUPUI 71-63 on Saturday.
Akindele had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Cougars (4-12, 3-4 Mid-Con). He also blocked two shots. Aaron Strayhand had 13 points and Royce Parran had 10.
The score was tied 49-49 with 8:30 left in the game, when Chicago State went on a 22-14 run.
The Cougars converted 18 IUPUI turnovers for 21 points. Chicago State also shot 50 percent while holding IUPUI to 37.7 percent shooting from the field.
Maushae Byles, Akeem Clark, and James Booyer each had 12 points for the Jaguars (10-9, 4-4 Mid-Con). Johnny Miller added eight points and 11 rebounds.
The Cougars snapped a four-game losing streak with the win.
