LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) -- Brian Hamilton scored 16 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Louisiana-Lafayette to a 54-44 victory over Middle Tennessee on Saturday night.
Dwayne Mitchell scored 12, going 10-of-10 from the free throw line, and grabbed 10 rebounds for Louisiana-Lafayette (12-7, 6-1 Sun Belt). Tiras wade added 10 points for the Ragin' Cajuns.
Steve Thomas had 19 points and 10 rebounds for Middle Tennessee (13-8, 3-4), which made only six of its first 23 field goals in falling behind 26-14 at halftime.
Michael Cufee added 10 points but was only 2-of-9 shooting from the field.
Both teams struggled from long range, with the Cajuns missing all 16 of their 3-point attempts. Middle Tennessee was 2-of-15 from that distance.
Louisiana-Lafayette finished with a 45-31 rebounding edge.
