CHENEY, Wash. (AP) -- Kamarr Davis scored 18 points and Montana hit 13 of 14 foul shots in the final four minutes as the Grizzlies knocked off Eastern Washington 68-58 Saturday night.
In a game that featured 12 lead changes and five ties, Montana (10-10, 4-3 Big Sky) used a 10-0 spurt capped by a Davis basket inside to take a 55-50 lead over the Eagles (7-13, 4-3) with 3:40 left.
The Grizzlies opened the lead to eight on Kevin Criswell's breakaway layup. But Paul Butorac converted a three-point play with 1:02 left for EWU, pulling the Eagles to within five, 63-58. Montana sealed it by hitting 5 of 6 foul shots over the next 20 seconds.
Criswell added 16 points for Montana, which had four players in double figures and outscored EWU 30-10 in the paint. Matt Martin scored 11 and Matt Dlouhy had 10 points and eight rebounds.
EWU, which managed just 21 percent shooting in the second half, got 15 points each from Marc Axton and Danny Pariseau. Jake Beitinger added 12. Montana, which had committed 26 turnovers in a loss Thursday to Portland State, had only 11 against EWU.
