MOREHEAD, Ky. (AP) -- Trey Pearson hit six 3-pointers and scored 28 points to lead Murray State to an 83-64 win over Morehead State on Saturday night.
Pearson went 6-of-11 from 3-point range and Virginia transfer Keith Jenifer added 12 points and five assists for the Racers (11-7, 6-2 Ohio Valley Conference), who won for the sixth time in eight games.
Quinton Smith scored 16 to lead the Eagles (9-10, 3-5), who had a two-game winning streak snapped.
The Racers outrebounded the Eagles 39-27 and went 11-of-23 from 3-point range.
Murray State finished the first half with a 14-6 run to lead 36-28 at the break.
Morehead State opened the second half with a 9-0 run, but the Racers mounted a 27-8 spurt later to take control.
Chad McKnight added 13 and Josh Reed and Cory Burns each finished with 11 for the Eagles.
