MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- Mario Jointer scored 24 points and led South Alabama's 7-0 run to seal a 67-60 victory over North Texas on Saturday.
North Texas used a 14-5 run to tie the game 60-60 with 1:55 remaining. Jointer, Jeffrey Collins, Carlos Smith and Richard Law combined for 7-of-8 free throws for the rest of the game.
South Alabama hit 27-of-34, or 79,4 percent, from the foul line as a team.
Jointer shot 8-of-16 from the field, including 4-of-11 from 3-point range, and 4-of-6 free throws for the Jaguars (6-13, 3-5 Sun Belt Conference). Law added 16 points and Daniel Northern had 10.
Leonard Hopkins led North Texas (10-8, 3-4) with 13 points, 8 of them free throws. Ty Thomas added 11 points and Calvin Watson had 10 points.
South Alabama led 36-27 at halftime.
