LORMAN, Miss. (AP) -- Delvin Thompson had 23 points to lead Alcorn State to a 69-67 upset of Southern University on Saturday night.
Almaad Jackson had 15 points, DeAndre Jones scored 11 and Juan Wyatt added 10 for the Braves (5-15, 4-5 Southwestern Athletic Conference), who snapped a three-game losing streak.
Thompson was 10-of-13 from the free throw line for Alcorn State, which overcame 28 turnovers and outrebounded the Jaguars 40-33.
Chris Alexander had 17 points and Trayvean Scott added 11 for Southern (8-10, 5-4), which has lost three straight, all on the road.
The Jaguars were held to 30 percent shooting from the field and were just 3-of-18 from beyond the 3-point arc _ including 0-of-7 in the second half.
Alcorn State made 57 percent of its attempts from the field in the second half.
