FULLERTON, Calif. (AP) -- Ralphy Holmes scored 20 points Saturday to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 68-59 Big West Conference victory over UC Santa Barbara in a matchup of the conferences' top offensive and defensive teams.
Holmes scored six points in a 15-0 Fullerton run, turning a close game into a 55-38 Titan lead with eight minutes, 58 seconds remaining.
Jamaal Brown added 13 points and a season-high 14 rebounds for Fullerton, and Yaphett King scored 14 points.
Fullerton (10-7, 5-4) averages 77 points per conference game, and UCSB (7-11, 4-6) has given up an average of 58 points.
Santa Barbara, which got 16 points from Alex Harris and 12 points each from Cameron Goettsche and Joe See, lost for only the second time in its last 13 games against Fullerton.
The Gauchos are 1-9 on the road this season.
