OXFORD, Ohio (AP) -- William Hatcher made the tying 3-pointer at the end of regulation and the go-ahead layup in overtime, leading Miami of Ohio to a 77-74 win over Buffalo on Saturday.
Hatcher scored a career-best 23 points. He tied the score 67-all on a 3-pointer with 3 seconds left in regulation and his layup with 2:56 remaining in overtime put the RedHawks (14-5, 9-2 Mid-American Conference) ahead to stay 71-69.
Danny Horace helped hold off the Bulls (13-7, 6-6) by making all four of his free throws in the final 22 seconds. Horace went 11-for-12 at the line and scored a team-best 25 points as Miami won its sixth straight.
Chet Mason added 16 points, nine rebounds and six steals for Miami, which moved two games ahead of Akron and Ohio for first place in the MAC East Division.
Mark Bortz led Buffalo with 16 points and fellow reserve Calvin Cage scored 13. The Bulls didn't have a starter reach double figures.
Miami outrebounded Buffalo 47-29.
