MARTIN, Tenn. (AP) -- Josh Gomes scored 32 points to lead Eastern Illinois past Tennessee-Martin 96-91 in overtime on Saturday night.
Eastern Illinois (9-12, 4-6 Ohio Valley Conference) missed just one shot in overtime _ finishing 4-of-5 from the field and 6-of-6 from the free throw line.
The Skyhawks (4-17, 1-9) couldn't keep up, missing all four of their 3-point attempts.
Tennessee-Martin tied the Panthers at 84 on Jared Newson's free throw with 3:48 left in overtime, but a 12-6 run put Eastern Illinois up for good.
Gomes tied it at 81 on a free throw with 1:34 to play in regulation, but both teams squandered opportunities to win the game.
Emmanuel Dildy scored 21 points for Eastern Illinois and Andy Gobczynski added 13.
Newson led the Skyhawks with 20 points, followed by Justin Smith with 19 and Cleve Woodfork with 18.
