STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) -- Terry Williams scored 21 points and Elton Nesbitt had 20 to lead Georgia Southern to an 81-63 victory over Furman on Saturday.
The Eagles (14-8, 7-3 Southern Conference) stifled the nation's second-best 3-point shooting team, holding the Paladins (12-9, 5-4) to only 2 of 13 from long range. Furman had been averaging 10 3-pointers a game, shooting 42.9 percent from beyond the arc.
Williams, who also had five assists and no turnovers, hit his first five 3-pointers in the first half to help stake the Eagles to a 45-29 lead at intermission.
Moussa Diagne led the Paladins with a season-high 22 points and Nicholas Sanders added 14 and 10 rebounds.
Three other Eagles scored in double figures _ Jean Francois 13, Louis Graham 11 and Donte Gennie 10.
It was Southern's ninth consecutive victory at home.
