PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Phil Goss had 16 points in leading Drexel to a 70-52 victory over Hofstra, holding the Pride to their lowest point total of the season.
Bashir Mason and Jeremiah King each had 11 points for Drexel (12-8, 8-4 Colonial Athletic Association), which won for the eighth time in 10 games.
Antoine Agudio had 11 points and Loren Stokes 10 for Hofstra (14-7, 6-6), which made only 20 of 60 shots in suffering its worst defeat of the year.
Drexel never trailed and used an early 14-0 run, including 3-pointers by Goss and Dominick Mejia, to take 21-7 advantage. Drexel led 39-19 at the half, putting eight players in the scoring column, while holding Hofstra to 9-for-29 shooting, including just 1-for-10 from 3-point range.
The lead reached 44-22 early in the second half before Agudio sparked a mild rally for the Pride to close to within 48-33 with 12:21 to play, but Hofstra never got any closer.
The victory was Drexel's eighth straight over Hofstra since the two teams joined the Colonial Athletic Association in 1992.
