WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- Paul Miller scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Wichita State past Indiana State 67-57 Saturday night.
Jamar Howard had 11 points and five rebounds for the Shockers (17-3, 10-2 Missouri Valley Conference), who avenged a loss earlier in the season to the Sycamores. Rob Kampman, P.J. Couisnard and Sean Ogirri added nine each for Wichita State.
Gabriel Moore and Eric Gray each scored 13 for the Sycamores (8-16, 3-9). David Moss added 11, and Amani Daanish had 10.
Wichita State led 30-21 at the half after both teams struggled from the floor in the first 20 minutes. The Shockers shot 34 percent (9-of-26) from the field, compared to 30 percent (7-of-23) for the Sycamores.
Indiana State cut the lead to 59-53 late in the game, but Wichita State finished the Sycamores off by going 8-for-8 from the free-throw line.
Wichita State shot 56 percent in the second half, while holding Indiana State to 41 percent.
