MACOMB, Ill. (AP) -- Cortney Scott had 17 points and five rebounds as Oakland beat Western Illinois 72-67 on Saturday.
Scott led a well-balanced attack for the Grizzlies (6-14, 4-5 Mid-Con) who had four other players score in double figures. Pierre Dukes had 13 points, while Rawle Marshall, DeMarcus Ishmeal, and Kris Krzyminski each had 12 points.
Oakland led the Leathernecks (7-13, 3-6 Mid-Con) 41-27 at halftime, but had to hold off a ferocious comeback that cut their lead down to one point twice in the final minute and a half of play.
T.J. Gray led the Leathernecks with 12 points. Will Lewis added 11 points and Nathan Koster had 10.
