WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP) -- Chris Kenny tied a season-high with 20 points to lead Monmouth to a 78-66 win over Robert Morris in a Northeast Conference game on Saturday night.
Kenny was 6-of-11 from the field, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range, as Monmouth (10-9, 9-1 NEC) hit nearly 55 percent of its shots. Blake Hamilton added 15 points, eight rebounds and five assists, while Tyler Azzarelli had 14 points.
Robert Morris (10-11, 7-4) got a game-high 22 points from Mark Anderson, while Chaz McCommon added 18 points and seven rebounds.
The Hawks pulled out to an early lead and led by as much as 14 points in the first , but Robert Morris rallied and only trailed 33-29 at the break. Monmouth then broke open the game with a 9-0 run early in the second half, keyed by Dwayne Byfield's 3-pointer.
