JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) -- Russell Walker scored 10 of his 30 points in double overtime and set a school record with 18 free throws, leading Jacksonville State to a 88-87 victory over Tennessee Tech on Saturday night.
Tennessee Tech's Willie Jenkins put the teams in the second overtime on a pair of free throws with 23 seconds left in the first period. Walker's layup sparked an 8-0 run that seemed to secure the win until the Golden Eagles answered with their own 5-0 spurt.
Tim Lewis extended the Gamecocks' lead on a pair of free throws and Jenkins' 3-pointer with 2 seconds remaining put Tech within 1.
Anthony Fisher's 3 with 15 seconds in regulation sent the teams into overtime.
B.J. Spencer scored 18 points for the Gamecocks (6-16, 1-8 Ohio Valley Conference). Anthony Wilson added 12 and Dorien Brown had 11 points and seven rebounds. Walker also had 11 assists
Jenkins led Tennessee Tech with 24 points on 8-of-16 shooting. Fisher added 18, Derek Stribling had 16 and Keyon Boyd scored 13 for the Golden Eagles (12-8, 7-2), who led 36-27 at halftime.
