BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) -- Nashid Beard had 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead Lamar past Texas-San Antonio 85-68 on Saturday night.
Beard's first double-double of the season helped Lamar (14-6, 6-3 Southland Conference) beat Texas-San Antonio (9-10, 4-4) for the first time in seven meetings. Jeremy Long added 19 points for the Cardinals.
Lamar held UTSA to 36 percent shooting and outrebounded the Roadrunners 50-40.
Justin Harbert led UTSA with 19 points and eight rebounds. Harbert was one of five players off the bench that gave the Roadrunners 43 points.
Ray Salvage, another UTSA reserve, added 14 points.
