DEKALB, Ill. (AP) -- Anthony Maestranzi scored a team-high 16 points to lead Northern Illinois to a 65-46 victory over Central Michigan late Wednesday.
Northern Illinois (9-12, 5-8 MAC) staged a balanced offensive attack, with Maestranzi and three other players scoring in double-digits. Todd Peterson scored 13 points, Mike McKinney had 12 and James Hughes added 11 for the Huskies.
Central Michigan (7-14, 2-11 MAC) struggled throughout the game and never once held the lead. The Chippewas were led by Kevin Nelson, who had a game-high 22 points.
