BOSTON (AP) -- Shawn James had career highs of 23 points and 14 rebounds to lead Northeastern past Hartford 86-66 on Wednesday night.
The Huskies (14-8, 10-3 America East) never trailed while the Hawks (7-15, 3-10) missed seven of their first eight shots and shot 39 percent for their fifth straight loss.
Bernard Lowndes scored a career-high 22 points and had seven rebounds and Aaron Cook scored 16 and had eight rebounds for Hartford.
After Hartford pulled within two points early in the second half, Northeastern went on a 17-4 run to put the game out of reach. James' putback with 13:02 left gave Northeastern a 58-46 lead.
Jose Juan Barea scored 17 points and tied a career high with 14 assists to lead the Huskies to their fourth win in their last five games.
Marcus Barnes scored all 18 of points in the first half on six 3-pointers as Northeastern took a 42-35 halftime lead. Barnes' 3-pointer with 1:50 left in the half gave the Huskies their first double-digit lead, 41-30.
