ORONO, Maine (AP) -- Kevin Reed was 7-of-12 from 3-point range and had a season-high 31 points Wednesday night to lead Maine to a 76-70 victory over New Hampshire.
Reed scored 11 points during a key 3-minute stretch in which Maine (11-11, 6-7 America East) wrested the halftime lead from the Wildcats (7-14, 3-10).
Reed had six 3-pointers and 23 points in the second half.
Chris Vetrano of New Hampshire scored all 16 of his points in the second half.
Neither team shot above 33 percent from the field in the first half, but New Hampshire took a 27-25 lead behind Ben Sturgill's 12 points. Sturgill finished with 20 points and nine rebounds.
Joe Campbell and Ammar Harknell each added 12 points for the Black Bears, who played without injured starting guards Ernest Turner and Chris Markwood.
