TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- Darren Clarke scored a career-high 15 points and Saint Louis snapped a four-game losing streak with a 55-47 victory over South Florida on Wednesday night.
Anthony Drejaj and Luke Meyer each added 10 points for Saint Louis (6-16, 4-6 Conference USA), which was without leading scorer Reggie Bryant (13.8 points), who had the flu.
South Florida (10-11, 3-7) got 21 points from Brian Swift, but the Bulls were also affected by the flu. Slowed this week with flu-like symptoms, Terrence Leather was held to just three points _ well below his average of 18.4, third-best in the conference.
Swift's layup with 1:18 left made it 46-41 as the Bulls climbed out of a 14-point halftime deficit. But the Billikens responded with a 6-0 run that extended their lead to 52-41 with less than a minute left.
Saint Louis led 26-12 at halftime as South Florida shot just 12 percent (3-for-25) and turned the ball over 10 times.
