COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Toney Douglas scored 22 points and Quinnel Brown added 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead Auburn to a 74-71 victory over South Carolina on Saturday night.

The Tigers (12-11, 3-7 Southeastern Conference) made 11 of 21 3-pointers, including four each by Douglas and Ian Young, who scored 20 points.

Douglas hit a 3 and Brown hit two consecutive 3-pointers to key a 13-2 run in the beginning of the second half, and Auburn took a 46-35 lead on Douglas' two foul shots with 16:43 left.

The Tigers increased their lead to 60-46 with 7:38 left on Nathan Watson's runner down the lane before the Gamecocks (13-8, 5-5) rallied. Josh Gonner's 3-pointer capped a 16-4 run that pulled South Carolina to 64-62 with 1:56 left.

But Watson made a 3-pointer and after Gonner missed a 3, Daniel Hayles hit one-of-two foul shots with 59.3 seconds left.

Carlos Powell scored with 42.2 seconds left to cut Auburn's lead to 68-64, then Gonner scored on a layup to cut it to lead to 68-66. But that was as close as the Gamecocks could get as Young and Brown both made foul shots in the final seconds to seal the win.

Gonner led South Carolina with 22 points, including four 3-pointers. Powell had 14 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. The Gamecocks suffered only their second loss in 13 home games this year.
