AMHERST, N.Y. (AP) -- Turner Battle scored 14 points to lead Buffalo to a 67-58 win over Ball State on Saturday.
Buffalo (15-7) trailed 48-43 with 10:47 left in the second half, but rallied with a 9-0 run that gave the Bulls their first lead since late in the first half. Calvin Cage ignited the run with a 3-pointer at 10:37 and the Bulls tied the game 35 seconds later when Mark Bortz dunked an alley-oop from Battle.
After trailing 59-54, Ball State (12-9) pulled within one on back-to-back field goals by Terrance Chapman and Peyton Stovall, making the score 59-58 with 3:12 left.
But Buffalo closed out the game with an 8-0 run sparked by consecutive layups by Battle and Yassin Idbihi.
Bortz finished with 13 points for Buffalo. Cage and Mario Jordan each added 10.
Stovall led Ball State with a game-high 17 points. Chapman had 12 and Julien Miles 11.
