PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) -- Scott Greenman scored 12 of his game-high 17 points in the second half and Princeton broke its four-game Ivy League losing streak by beating Columbia 63-53 on Saturday night.
Will Venable added 15 points for the Tigers, who remain in last place in the conference despite the win. Columbia's Matt Preston led all scorers with 20 points.
The game seemed to turn when Columbia coach Joe Jones picked up a technical early in the second half in the foul-marred affair. Princeton (11-10, 2-6 Ivy) led 32-28 at the time, and Greenman hit both free throws to start a 9-2 run that pushed the advantage to 41-30 with 8:26 left.
Greenman scored seven points in the run, nailing a 3-pointer from the corner and two more free throws in the run. Princeton later extended its lead to as much as 12 points, and Columbia (12-9, 3-5) could not get closer than eight points.
The Tigers also were 31-of-40 from the foul line in a game where 54 fouls were called.
