NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) -- Clifton Lee scored 14 points and was one of five scorers in double digits as Northwestern State beat Louisiana-Monroe 88-71 on Saturday.
Northwestern (14-11 overall, 8-3 Southland Conference) got 13 points and seven rebounds from Jermaine Spencer and 11 points apiece from Jermaine Wallace, Kerwin Forges and Colby Bargeman.
The Demons took command early with 10 unanswered points over a two-minute stretch to take a 17-7 lead with 13:41 left before halftime. The Indians rallied after falling behind 29-12 and cut NSU's lead to 41-29 at the break.
Louisiana-Monroe (7-14, 1-9) fell behind by 20 points five minutes into the second half and Northwestern stretched the lead to as many as 30 points, 83-53, with 5:40 to go.
RoShon Jacobs led the Indians with 15 points off the bench while Aaron Branch scored 14 and Jontae Turpin had 13. The Indians had 15 turnovers in the first half and finished with 24.
ULM outrebounded Northwestern 38-30 with DeAndre Alexander getting nine rebounds and Gary Robinson eight for the Indians.
